What if you found a thousand dollars lying on the street? Would you give the money to the proper authorities, or keep it to pay the rent with?
This quandary may not be common, but it is a perfect example of a morally ambiguous situation.
You know that the money does not belong to you, and therefore you should probably try to return it to its original owner.
But on the other hand, your rent is past due, you’ve just lost your job, and you really need the money.
It doesn’t belong to you, but you probably need it more than the person who lost it right? I mean, anyone who would be careless enough to lose a thousand dollars probably doesn’t need it as bad as a person who’s about to get evicted, right?
What do you do?

Cognitive Psychology is a discipline within Psychology that is interested in the mental processes behind thought and sense perception.
Sure, I know, these aren’t the types of things that any old Joe might be familiar with, granted. But on the other hand, why not learn a little something about an esoteric realm of psychological knowledge?
Might be a little fun, eh?
Sure, this might not be your idea of an exiting Friday night, but it could be a nice five minute diversion from the drudgery of office work.
