Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences rejects the older standard theory of IQ as too narrow. Why IQ claims to measure a single thing which we call “intelligence” the theory of multiple intelligences claims that there are actually seven or eight distinct “intelligences” which exist independently. These include verbal intelligence, math intelligence, natural intelligence, body intelligence, and several more.

A multiple intelligence assessment such as this one attempts to measure each of these intelligences, not by testing you diagnostically, but by asking you a series of questions about your learning preferences. This is a very different way of thinking and examining intelligence. But it can be very fun and rewarding.
