New Test: Geometry

Geometry is an essential component to any successful understanding of mathematics. After all, many of math’s most important topics find their primary or secondary applications in geometry. If you can’t do geometry, you could have quite a bit of trouble moving forward in mathematics.
Plus, if you are taking a standardized test anytime soon (such as the SAT or GRE) you are going to NEED to know geometry.
This geometry test that I’ve just posted includes five practice geometry questions that you can use to study.

New Test: Estimation Sequences

There’s more to math than just long division!
Get this into your head my friend. If you don’t, you will never be able to feel the pleasure of entering the wide world of estimation and guestimation. These are concepts which are key to the full understanding of numbers, functions and calculations.
More importantly, estimation sequence questions could show up on a standardized test such as the SAT, GRE, or TOEFL.

New Post: Basic Algebra

Attention all students!
If you’ve got a standardized test coming up (i.e. GRE, SAT, TOEFL, etc.) you’re gonna need some basic review and intensive practice, especially if math is not your strong point.
If this is the case, I suggest digging deep into a few review materials such as this set of practice problems in basic algebra. These are pretty typical for problems that you would find on a standardized test, so the time it takes to complete them will be well spent.
Brush up on your Basic Algebra. What are you waiting for?

Your ability to understand numbers and to quickly solve mathematical problems is an essential skill in the modern working environment. Knowing this, it is in your best interests to make sure that your numerical reasoning skills are top notch.
I’ve just posted a test which critically examines these very skills. If you are able to score well on this test, more power to you! You have good numerical reasoning skills. If you score poorly, on the other hand, you might want to brush up on your math.
Numbers are a world of knowledge that cannot be done without. This test will operate as a quick diagnostic determining your ability to enter in to and navigate through this world.

When it comes to math, we all have our weak points. Some of us are terrible at algebra, some of us can’t do long division for all of the tuna fish in the world, and others still have almost no conception at all of the world of Fractions and Square Roots.
For those of us afflicted with this oh-so-debilitating mathematical ailment, the mere sight of something like “23 7/13″ can cause a fit of shock.

Who hates math?! And we will see the great difference of the hands raised.
Why does most of us hates numbers? Some may find it so fun to play with equations and mathematical problems, some may do everything just to avoid math classes.

Numbers are abstractions; they have no physical reality. And yet, having a sufficient understanding of numbers and how they work is essential to getting by in the modern world. The skill set that goes along with this understanding is known by many names (such as “Mathematics”) but here we will call it Numerical Reasoning and Aptitude.
If you’re not sure if you have Numerical Reasoning and Aptitude skills, by all means, take this new test right away. A successful career will depend on your being able to acquire and retain these skills.

Yes, that’s right; I have yet another math test ready to be shot your way at 200kph like a t-shirt out of a t-shirt gun.
Don’t cringe, we all need a little math sometimes. And if you’re about to take a big exam for your intermediate math class or if (God Forbid) you’ve got a large standardized test on the horizon, this test could be a real life saver.
So, don’t scoff, don’t grumble, just take this test. And don’t just slump through it; I want to really SEE the sweat dripping off of your brow from all of the strenuous mental exertion that you’ll be putting forward.
