You’ve heard these names before: Timothy Geithner, Steven Chu, Ken Salazar.

But who the heck ARE these people?

Well, they’re all members of President Obama’s cabinet. In this quiz you will have to try to match each of Obama’s cabinet members to his or her job title. It’s tougher than you think.

I always forget who the current secretary of education is. Will you?

President Barack Obama’s Cabinet Match

You’ve probably heard the terms “Big Brother,” “DoubleSpeak” and “Thought Crime” a million times before. These are favorite terms of political pundits the world over. But where do they come from?

In fact, all these terms originate in George Orwell’s famous 1949 novel “1984,” the most famous work of dystopian fiction ever written.

Here’s a quiz on the novel that you can take to find out how much you know about it, whether through osmosis or by reading it (if you’ve had the pleasure).

If you don’t do so well, don’t beat yourself up about it; although maybe you should spend a little more time getting acquainted with British literature!

Sure, this test is a little bit out of date. But who doesn’t love politics? Even a year after the 2008 elections, people still love thinking about voting, and who they voted for, and who they would have liked to vote for if this or that had been the case or if they had lived in a swing state or if…

You know what I’m talking about.

This is another one of those tests where you answer questions about your political opinions and then a computer tells you who you should vote for.

FUN!

Something funny about absolute power: It tends to corrupt absolutely. No really, it does. No joke.

When a political leader attempts to extort money and political power away from his or her subjects, the power tends to go to the leader’s head, and the rest is history.

Many dictators even have started out with good intentions, trying to liberate their countries from colonialism, and yet they sometimes have ended in corruption and murder.

How much do you know about absoulute power? It’s a pretty important topic! You can educate yourself by taking this quick test.

Absolute Power.

The dominant narrative of history implies that slavery is a thing of the past which disappeared after its having been abolished in most of the world during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Unfortunately however, this narrative is flawed in that it does not acknowledge the ongoing persistence of illegal slavery which continues to be practiced even today, and which may in fact even be on the rise.

Test your knowledge of this sad reality by taking this online quiz about slavery today.
