The body prepared for flight or fight.
All body parts not needed immediately were put on standby.
Including the brain!!
Hardly very good if you like to prepare for a critical exam.

Problems with test anxiety?

Never skip a test!
No matter how much test anxiety you have!!
The most dreaded exam in my engineering studies was Mechanics part 3. Usually about 80% failed in the first attempt.
So everybody was very tense when it came up and many people didn’t even bother to come. I went.
And it turned out to be the easiest test for about a decade.
In fact so easy I got suspicious and had to check very carefully that there were no hidden traps.
So I can claim that I am one of the few with the higheest grade in Mechanics 3.
Naturally the exam went back to it’s normal difficulty after this one time…
Morale: Never skip a test. Worst case you fail but learn something, and you may even pass without actually deserving it. But nobody who sees your grade will know it!
